As a fair gal, I’ve always approached bronzer with a bit of apprehension. It doesn’t take much to go from glowy to fake. When I bought Dandelion Dew, which you can check out here, I also picked up Dew the Hoola, the liquid version of their cult fave Hoola powder bronzer. I’ve only used a select few bronzing products and never a liquid one so I was venturing into new, and potentially orange, territory. Benefit’s description for Dew the Hoola;
This liquid bronzer gives your face a year-round glow without the gleam. The smoothing effects and lightweight texture melt in for a shimmerless, natural look that’s so sheer, it’ll have you saying hoola-la!
The finish really is a natural sheer, soft matte that blends easily on skin. Because the formula is meant to be matte is sets rather quickly especially on drier skin types. As someone with combination skin some powder formulas start looking muddy on me as the days goes on but Dew the Hoola wears very naturally; not super matte but definitely not shimmery.
You may want to do a couple practice rounds if you’re not used to liquid/cream formulas. The colour might appear a tad on the orange side at first but blends out fairly easily to leave a soft glow. Still, there are some who will find that the colour doesn’t work for them. It’s a good idea to try and swing a sample before buying so you can experiment and decide if Dew the Hoola is right for you.
Dew the Hoola has a slight fragrance. Once applied I don’t notice it but in general I prefer my products to be fragrance free. If you’re a fan of bronzer or looking for an alternative to pressed bronzer it’s worth a try.
