We’ve all had those mornings when we get up with a monster zit that wasn’t there the night before, or, for many of us, blemishes aren’t sporadic but a regular issue. There are tried and trusted ingredients like salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. Still, some of us just haven’t had a ton of luck with synthetic acne products and many prefer to use natural remedies. One natural ingredient to fight blemishes is Tea Tree oil. While Tea Tree is by no stretch a new ingredient on the scene it still remains compared to its conventional therapies like salicylic or Benzoyl.
This is the first installment of a series of posts focusing on Tea Tree oil and its uses. Posts will range from skincare to household uses. In addition, I’ll feature other essential oils and the various ways to use them at home and as part of your beauty routine. As much as I love salicylic acid I love when I get really take good care of my skin with natural products; especially since I use so many products #beautybloggerproblems.
So what is tea tree oil exactly and what does it do? Tea tree is an essential oil that has antisepticproperties so it helps kill bacteria that contribute to acne breakouts, blemishes and even blackheads.Whether you’re dealing with the occasional blemish or it’s been an ongoing struggle tea tree oil is worth a try. Typically, a minimum concentration of 5% tea tree is required to really see any improvement of blemishes. Though tea tree can be a tad drying it’s not nearly as drying as benzoyl peroxide so it’s a great option for those with sensitive blemish-prone skin.
In upcoming posts I’ll feature great products that contain tea tree as well as how to effectively use them to achieve results.
