I may be throwing any credibility my blog has down the drain after I reveal my latest addition to my skin care routine. It’s…..umm…..facial exercises. There, I said it! (or typed it.) I honestly can’t even remember how I got started on this but I’m glad I did. I am generally a hard sell when it comes to skin care and am definitely a cynic when it comes to fads. However, I started following along with videos-I’m cringing as I type this-that are essentially workouts for your face muscles. The idea is that these exercises are supposed to help with expression lines caused from laughing, smiling or being pensive. These exercises are not miracles but I found them helpful for stimulating areas of my face that felt either neglected or over worked.

As for any real anti aging benefits, well, only time will tell but at the very least these exercises have reminded me to not frown so much thus to be more conscious of my emotions because we all know that the first place they show up is on the face. This year I’m trying to be a bit more mindful of everything and if working a few face muscles while making silly faces helps then so be it.
