I’ve always gravitated towards brighter vivid colour blushes. Lately however, I’ve been craving muted tones and have found a couple of gems. My most recent find is from Milani’s Rose Powder Blush collection in the shade Romantic Rose. As soon as I saw it I knew it would be a colour I would wear all the time! I was pleased to see that it actually looked lovely on. I also tried Tea Rose, another shade from the same collection. You can check it out here.
A radiant blush that deserves to be seen, Rose Powder Blush is gorgeous in the compact and even prettier on cheeks. The soft, natural-finish powder shapes, contours and highlights with flattering matte and shimmery shades made to complement every skin tone. This is one petal-perfect beauty that you’ll reach for again and again.
The shade is a mauve-pink and would flatter a wide spectrum of skin tones, but; those with very dark complexions may find this too light or ashy looking. Romantic Rose is perfect if you’re new to blush or are intimidated by the super bright shades. It’s an ideal shade for everyday and would easily match different makeup looks and colours. It gives a nice glow without being the focal point of my makeup. I have a feeling I’ll reach for this one even more once autumn rolls around.
Milani’s claim that the blush “shapes, contours and highlights” is a bit far reaching; it could be a contour for fair skin tones but is much too matte to function like a highlighter. The texture is quite soft and though the finish is matte it may seem more semi-matte on oilier skin types because of the small amount of oil in the ingredient list. Romantic Rose, like all the shades from the Rose Powder Blush collection, is very pigmented so a light hand is recommended.
Milani can be found at Rexall, Wal-Mart, and on their site here
