Narciso Rodriguez For Her has been a staple in my fragrance wardrobe for a few years now. Aside from the For Her toilette and parfum, which I wrote about here, I had not tried any more of their scents. This past summer, however, I was sent a bottle of their latest fragrance Narciso Eau De Parfum Poudree. Admittedly I was not a fan of this flanker-at first. The initial spritz overwhelmed me with sweet powder that made me want to gag. As a die hard lover of powdery fragrances I was perplexed to find myself repulsed so was not too quick to dismiss it as yet another 9disappointing flanker. After all I was, and forgive me if I’m getting too personal, on my time of the month when even those scents closest to my heart can make my stomach churn.
Fast forward to autumn when I gave it another try. I’m very glad I gave it a second chance (and amazed at the power hormones can have over our senses.) What I like about Poudree is that I still smell the distinct musk scent that is signature to any Narciso Rodriguez perfume but it has been softened up…a lot. The white floral top notes lend to the perfumes decidedly feminine spirit while the generous dose of powder adds warmth and comfort that makes one want to wrap up in a cozy sweater.
It is described as;
An irresistible blend of sensual woods, Bulgarian rose and white jasmine surround a heart of musk to create an addictive and elegant fragrance that fascinates.
Poudree is heavy on the powder and the floral yet it does an excellent job at balancing the two. The fragrance brings to mind a modern woman who has a firm grasp on the classics. Definitely worth trying in the autumn and winter months.
Narciso Rodriguez Eau De Parfum includes notes of Bulgarian rose, Jasmine, Black cedar and White cedar.
